The consumer watchdog has recently conducted a poll of its 11,000 members voting the best and worst online retailers of 78 sites currently operating in the UK this year.
The top customer score with 94% was the beauty label LizEarle.com. The attributes that gave LizEarle.com top marks was beautiful packaging, free samples and a sense of a personal touch. LizEarle.com was closely followed by ChainReactionCycles.com with 93%. Third place was shared jointly between JohnLewis.com, wiggle.co.uk, 7DayShop.com. Clearly the online cycle stores in the UK are in close competition in terms of customer service with two in the top five.
Staying on the theme of online stores in the same industry sectors battling with similar scores was home improvement stores HomeBase.co.uk and diy.com. Unfortunately they were battling it out at the other end of the Which? Poll. HomeBase.co.uk got a customer score of 52% and diy.com got a customer score of 50%. The home improvement stores failed to impress due to poor products and poor pricing.
Some interesting research produced by the consumer watchdog again. It’s clear that seller reviews and ratings are becoming increasingly more popular for online consumers. You will notice seller ratings features on all the big Price Comparison Sites.
