Filed in Social Media , Top Tips 0 comments

Years ago businesses only needed to focus on having a website on the internet, but these days only having just your business website isn’t enough? The need for businesses to join in the social arena is more important now than ever before.

Social networking has exploded and more and more businesses are using the social arena to engage with existing and potential customers.

So what social networks should you be using?

  1. Facebook – Allows you to set up a business page and promote your services to your Facebook followers. Once you have you Facebook page up and running and have over 25 fans, you can have your own unique Facebook business page name e.g. www.facebook.com/joeblogs (Only if it hasn’t been taken already)
  2. Google places – Every business should add themselves to Google places. Not only can customers find your business using Google maps and find you using Google search but you can also set your business opening and closing times and provide special discounts and offers to your customers.
  3. Twitter – Is a great way to connect with your audience using only 140 characters, excellent for putting you point across without spending too much time? You can customise your twitter account to match your business branding.
  4. YouTube – More businesses are now using YouTube to allow visitors/customers to see inside the business.  YouTube is excellent for providing training videos, showing new services and products and sharing testimonials with new customers.
  5. LinkedIn – LinkedIn is a social network based on business 2 business; connect with other businesses, freelancers and share ideas and offer jobs positions.
