Seller Rating Extensions Gets 5 Stars??

All merchants, advertising professionals and marketers should know that consumer reviews and product ratings help you sell more. Shoppers are becoming increasingly consumer savvy, they will hunt for the best prices, search for your reputation and gather product information within the sales process to help them make purchasing decisions.

On the 28th June 2010 Google announced the launch of ‘Seller Rating Extensions’ for merchants Adwords ads. The star ratings will be attached from merchants Google Product Search reviews to you Adwords ads. Please see an example Adwords ad with a Seller Rating Extension:

Google Product Search store ratings consist of aggregate ratings scores and snippets of customer reviews from third party sites. Google does not modify existing ratings they merely connect users with ratings from seller rating websites.

In order for merchants to comply for Seller Rating Extensions they must be rated on Google Product Search, have 4 or more stars, and have at least 30 reviews.

In Google’s own words; “(Seller Rating Extensions) makes it easier for people to identify highly-rated merchants when they’re (consumers) searching on Google.com”

How is it going to affect your CTR, Quality Score and the Relevance of your ads? If your Ads qualify for the seller rating extensions it will surely increase the merchants CTR, Quality Score and Relevance. However, if your ads do not qualify for the seller ratings extensions they will look inferior compared to your competitors.
