Whether it be technology such a mobile shopping applications, lack of time, ease of convince or simply all of the above the latest IGD Grocery Retail Outlook report predicts that online grocery shopping is set to double by 2015.

Currently the online grocery sector is worth £4.8 billion. The report produced by IGD predicts that the sector will be worth £9.5 billion by 2015. The current online shopping sector accounts for only 3.2% of the whole market. So there is great potential for the sector to grown.

The internet giant Amazon recently joined the supermarkets and entered the online grocery market back in July. There is also the rise of free shopping tools such as mysupermarket.co.uk. Mysupermarket.co.uk allows you to compare supermarket prices and get the best possible deal for your groceries by comparing the prices of such store as Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Ocado.
