Hello and welcome to another edition of Network Intellect’s Top Tips. Today, we’ll be focusing on Landing Pages and the most important aspects one should consider when optimising their Landing Page to maximise conversions.
Special Offers/Promotions –
If you don’t have any special offers or promotions, then make one! Nothing grabs a user’s attention more than the notion of saving money or finding a bargain, even something of minimal loss to your company such as free postage on selected items. This is an important technique to help boost your customer database for re-selling purposes.
Know Your Objectives -
Think about what exactly it is that you want your visitor to do when they’ve arrived to your Landing Page. If you want them to purchase a particular good, promote it with an image and offer with a clearly visible ‘Buy’ button. If you are looking for a lead, provide a contact form (doesn’t have to be a full form with countless fields) and encourage the user to fill it out.
Have a Clear and Visible Call-to-Action –
Firstly, make sure it doesn’t appear below the fold and if possible, try to keep it visible at all times. This will also make it easier for the user to complete the conversion and will push your sale or conversion through faster.
Track Your Visitors -
Ensure you have tracking implemented so you can understand how user’s behave once they have arrived on your Landing Page. If you are testing a Landing Page and the bounce rate has doubled, you will have to re-think your design. If, on the other hand, you test another bounce rate and notice that more users have completed conversions, you’re on to a winner.
Keep Testing –
The power of testing should never be under-estimated, as different Landing Pages will obviously provide different results it is important that one understands what works well and what doesn’t so that the Landing Pages can be continually refined to provide the optimum results. Of course, please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss how we can help optimise your current Landing Pages or utilise our user-profile Landing Pages service.
Be Smart with Images/Graphics –
Testing comes in handy here, as it’s never easy to know which images or graphics will help or hinder your cause. Make sure that these are used smartly, don’t just put some attractive images on your Landing Page because they look nice, ensure they are relevant and provide the user with a good visual experience and ultimately, contribute to conversions.
Don’t use pop-ups –
The last thing your visitor wants to see after arriving at your Landing Page is a pop-up, or multiple pop-ups. Thankfully, most advertisers understand that these are one of the most universally despised aspects of the internet, so make sure you avoid these on your Landing Page.
Remove All Distractions –
Don’t distract your visitors with links to blogs, news or any un-related products/sites. The user has clicked through to your personalised Landing Page for a reason, so ensure that all content on the page is relevant to the keyword/ad that has led them there.
