Google has announced on its Inside Adwords blog page that they will be providing a brand new metric feature in their current Bid Simulator tool.
The Estimated Top Impressions metric will enable advertisers to predict whether the volume of top ranking impressions will increase or decline if they change keywords. The tool uses data from the past seven days to predict the effect of certain changes, much like the Bid Simulator.
Google suggest that using this new feature may be a more effective way of obtaining the top ranking on search engine results page than looking at the average position, which is what most Adwords users currently do.
