Facebook has made yet more big changes over the recent months. They have altered your profile dramatically and added a subscribe button, among other changes. One thing that will never change is your users. With this in mind, here are five points you should be bearing in mind no matter what changes Facebook makes:
1. Play Around With The Site
The best way of familiarising yourself with a site is by actually using it. By using the site to get in touch with friends, share your photographs with people and various other social activities, you will begin to learn how to connect with your followers in a better way.
2. Consistently Participate
When attempting to get people interested in your cause and encourage them to act on it, you need to build up a relationship of trust. One of the biggest ways of making people lose trust in you is by being inconsistent.
If you confuse your followers by posting on Facebook several times a day for a month and then disappearing for ages, your fans will start to be concerned and ask themselves what your level of commitment to the cause is. It is important therefore to keep consistent and structured.
3. Communicate With Your Fans
Your Facebook page is a conversation platform for you and your supporters. Use this place to ask them for suggestions about how you could improve your service and give them what they are looking for.
The fact is, even if you cannot deliver exactly what they want, you can at least demonstrate to them that you care and want to help them as much as possible, which is a very good impression to put across to your supporters.
4. Be Familiar With Your Fans And Appreciate Them
One of the greatest ways of getting yourself noticed on Facebook is by determining who your fans are and showing them appreciation.
Try demonstrating your appreciation to your fans by making updates praising them as a whole, or just a particular individual etc. These types of updates tend to attract many comments in response as it makes your fans feel appreciated.
5. Measure And Monitor
Make sure you always measure what topics interest people, or how many fans donate when they visit your site etc. Facebook Insights is a good tool that will tell you how far away you are from your goals, how to act next, and when you’ve reached your target.
