4 Steps For Optimising Your Twitter Profile

Filed in Network Intellect , Social Media , Top Tips 0 comments

While it is very possible that you have joined Twitter in order to market a business, you should remember to inject a level of personal branding. You need to consider how to optimise certain sections within your Twitter profile in order to enable people to gain a better understanding of you and your business.

With this in mind, here are four important areas of your Twitter profile that you should be optimising:

1. Twitter Background

Your Twitter background is the first area you can optimise. You have the option to upload your own custom image or choose one of the templates suggested by Twitter. It is advisable not to use the default as a customised background is a very good way of getting across something about your brand or personality. It will help you stand out from other Twitter users.

2. Photograph

The next part of your Twitter profile that you should optimise is your photograph. It is again wise not to choose the default image, but use your own one to help you stand out from the others. A common mistake is people using photos that do not offer Twitter users any clues to recognising your identity.

For personal profiles you should use a headshot that shows your face clearly so you can easily be recognised, but for business profiles you should use an image that represents your company brand or logo.

3. Twitter Bio

Your bio is the third thing you should optimise. Try coming up with a complete sentence that describes yourself or your business. You should also ensure you incorporate a link to your website or blog. This will enable people to get a better insight into who you are and what you do.

4. Your Tweets

You should remember to always optimise your tweets. Make sure you always share content of value and those that will prompt actions. Verbs have been found to be the parts of speech that produce the largest number of shares on Twitter. Ensure you include links to landing pages within your updates. This will help you generate leads from Twitter.
